At the crisis center “Sezim,” a generational shift in leadership has taken place.

For over 26 years, human rights advocate Byubyusara Ryskulova has been at the helm of the “Sezim” Crisis Center, making a significant contribution to the cause of protecting the rights of women and children who have experienced violence, as well as strengthening family values and gender equality in Kyrgyzstan. Demonstrating a high commitment to democratic values and guiding principles of human rights organizations, Byubyusara Ryskulova has established a professional and sustainable non-governmental organization ready to provide support to vulnerable populations in the country.

At the initiative of Byubyusara Ryskulova, the crisis center has successfully implemented changes aimed at sustainable development and generational continuity in the human rights environment. Following a three-stage open competition, the general assembly of members of the crisis center “Sezim” elected Atyr Abdrakhmatova as the new executive director. Atyr Abdrakhmatova is known in Kyrgyzstan as an experienced lawyer, committed to principles of justice, advocating for the rights of socially vulnerable groups, and a professional leader. The new director will implement the strategy for the development of the “Sezim” Crisis Center approved in 2024.

In turn, Byubyusara Ryskulova, in her capacity as the honorary president of the “Sezim” Crisis Center and an experienced human rights defender, will continue her work aimed at strengthening gender equality, preventing violence against women and children, and creating a safe environment for women and children in Kyrgyzstan.
